Leif’s BBQ / Steak Sauce
This sauce recipe works great for chicken, pork, and steak. I originally made this creative concoction as a steak sauce, but found it's an amazing mix between Asian and American cuisine when used as a barbecue sauce and actually tastes better on chicken than I imagined.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup mushroom sauce sold at Asian stores
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 3 tbsp minced white onion with juices
- 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp maple syrup imitation syrup will not work
- 1 tbsp garlic paste
- Liberal helping of cracked black pepper to taste
- 2 oz bourbon (optional and recommended)
Instructions
- Throw all ingredients into a mixing bowl and blend well.
- Baste on meat of your choice, grill it, and then thank me later.
