Leif’s BBQ / Steak Sauce

This sauce recipe works great for chicken, pork, and steak. I originally made this creative concoction as a steak sauce, but found it's an amazing mix between Asian and American cuisine when used as a barbecue sauce and actually tastes better on chicken than I imagined.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup mushroom sauce sold at Asian stores
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 tbsp minced white onion with juices
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup imitation syrup will not work
  • 1 tbsp garlic paste
  • Liberal helping of cracked black pepper to taste
  • 2 oz bourbon (optional and recommended)

Instructions
 

  • Throw all ingredients into a mixing bowl and blend well.
  • Baste on meat of your choice, grill it, and then thank me later.
